The practical details for loft clearance — before you decide to book.
What does this service include?
Reclaim loft storage with a carefully planned collection. Safe access, boarded areas and the route downstairs need checking before work is agreed.
What can be collected?
Stored boxes and household clutter; Small unwanted furniture; Items within safe accessible storage; No assumed removal of insulation or structural materials. Acceptance and scope are agreed before booking.
What cannot be collected?
Asbestos, toxic or contaminated material, chemicals, clinical waste, gas bottles, explosives and unknown liquids are excluded from ordinary clearance. Specialist appliances, upholstered items and heavy materials must be identified and accepted separately.
How does collection work?
Send item and access photos with your full postcode. We assess the load and receiving requirements, agree a quote and collection slot, then carry and load only the agreed items from safe access points.
How should I prepare?
Photograph the hatch and safe floor area. Remove important documents and sentimental items. Describe ladders, headroom and the route downstairs. Do not move a heavy or unsafe item just to take a photo.
Do I need to be present?
You or an authorised person should confirm the items and provide access. An unattended collection must be specifically agreed in advance, with safe access and an unambiguous remove list; do not assume it is available.
What access information is needed?
Photograph the hatch, ladder or stairs and boarded working area. Low headroom or an unboarded floor can make entry unsuitable; accessible collection points may need agreeing instead.
What affects the price?
Safe working access and the carry through the house affect labour. A photograph of boxes alone cannot establish whether the crew can safely enter the loft.
What happens after collection?
Stored boxes may contain documents, electricals or restricted materials. Inspect belongings yourself and identify waste types; the crew does not decide what personal records can be discarded.
Official guidance: Householder waste responsibilities
Can the crew work in an unboarded loft?
Safe access must be assessed first. Do not assume an unboarded area can be entered for clearance; discuss an alternative collection point if it cannot be accessed safely.
What alternatives should I consider?
If entry is unsafe, discuss a collection of items already brought to an accessible point by a suitable person. Reuse suitable possessions before arranging waste disposal.
What should I do next?
Call 07912 343234, Monday–Friday 9am–6pm, or prepare a photo enquiry. Include the full item list, postcode and access. An enquiry is not a confirmed booking; wait for an agreed scope, price and slot.
01 / Good to know
Safe access comes first
Show the hatch, ladder or stairs and describe the working area. The team must assess whether the loft can be entered and used safely. Unboarded floors, low headroom or an unsuitable ladder can change what is possible.

Identify what is actually waste
Photographs, paperwork and keepsakes can be hidden among stored boxes. Check them yourself and label anything to retain. Clearance should follow an agreed list, not a guess about the contents of sealed containers.

Explain the full carrying route
Loft items still have to pass through the house to the van. Include narrow stairs, fragile surfaces and the location of safe loading. Discuss whether accessible items can be brought down first or whether the job needs a different plan.

Stored away. Sorted out.
A clear scope.
A tidy finish.
The crew removes the agreed items from safe access points and loads the van. Disposal type, weight and access are assessed before the collection.
Asbestos, chemicals, clinical waste, gas bottles, explosives and unknown liquids are outside ordinary clearance. Specialist items need separate agreement.
