The practical details for sofa removal — before you decide to book.

What does this service include?

Two-seater sofas, corner sofas, armchairs and sofa beds need a clear plan for lifting and disposal. Send photos before moving or cutting the item.

What can be collected?

Sofas and corner sections; Armchairs and upholstered seating; Sofa beds assessed for weight; Recliners with electrical components identified. Acceptance and scope are agreed before booking.

What cannot be collected?

Asbestos, toxic or contaminated material, chemicals, clinical waste, gas bottles, explosives and unknown liquids are excluded from ordinary clearance. Specialist appliances, upholstered items and heavy materials must be identified and accepted separately.

How does collection work?

Send item and access photos with your full postcode. We assess the load and receiving requirements, agree a quote and collection slot, then carry and load only the agreed items from safe access points.

How should I prepare?

Photograph all sections and any damage. Show the tightest part of the route out. Explain powered recliners or sofa-bed mechanisms. Do not move a heavy or unsafe item just to take a photo.

Do I need to be present?

You or an authorised person should confirm the items and provide access. An unattended collection must be specifically agreed in advance, with safe access and an unambiguous remove list; do not assume it is available.

What access information is needed?

Count corner-sofa sections and show the stairs, door turns and exit. Identify recliner motors and sofa-bed mechanisms because they add weight.

What affects the price?

Sofa construction, access, section count and upholstered-waste disposal influence the quote. We do not publish an unapproved fixed sofa rate.

What happens after collection?

Waste upholstered seating may contain POPs and require separate handling. Keep it intact, disclose torn fabric or exposed foam and ask about containment before moving it.

Why might sofa disposal cost differently from a table?

Upholstered seating can need a separate handling and disposal route, as well as heavier lifting. Confirm the item-specific charge rather than assuming all furniture is priced alike.

What alternatives should I consider?

A retailer may offer old-sofa removal with delivery. A council can be an alternative if it accepts the item and you can meet its preparation rules; reusable items need a separate eligibility check.

What should I do next?

Call 07912 343234, Monday–Friday 9am–6pm, or prepare a photo enquiry. Include the full item list, postcode and access. An enquiry is not a confirmed booking; wait for an agreed scope, price and slot.

01 / Good to know

Sofa size is only part of the quote

Include the number of sections, approximate dimensions and whether the sofa is a sofa bed or powered recliner. A heavy mechanism, narrow staircase or awkward turn can change the work involved.

02 / Good to know

Keep upholstered seating intact

Some waste seating requires specific handling because of persistent organic pollutants. Do not cut up foam or fabric to make it fit in bags. Show tears or damage and ask the team how to keep the item contained for collection.

03 / Good to know

Tell us about the replacement delivery

If a new sofa is arriving, provide the date and access arrangements. The team can discuss availability, but a short-notice slot is not confirmed until it has been agreed. Keep a safe route clear while waiting.
