The practical details for single item & bulky waste collection — before you decide to book.

What does this service include?

A sofa, appliance, bed or another awkward item does not have to become a full house-clearance project. Start with a photo and your postcode.

What can be collected?

Single sofas and mattresses; One unwanted appliance; Bulky furniture by agreement; A small group of items collected together. Acceptance and scope are agreed before booking.

What cannot be collected?

Asbestos, toxic or contaminated material, chemicals, clinical waste, gas bottles, explosives and unknown liquids are excluded from ordinary clearance. Specialist appliances, upholstered items and heavy materials must be identified and accepted separately.

How does collection work?

Send item and access photos with your full postcode. We assess the load and receiving requirements, agree a quote and collection slot, then carry and load only the agreed items from safe access points.

How should I prepare?

Photograph the whole item and loading route. Identify additional bags or items up front. Confirm any item-specific disposal charge. Do not move a heavy or unsafe item just to take a photo.

Do I need to be present?

You or an authorised person should confirm the items and provide access. An unattended collection must be specifically agreed in advance, with safe access and an unambiguous remove list; do not assume it is available.

What access information is needed?

Show the entire item, its dimensions and the tightest part of the exit. Explain built-in fittings, glass, stairs and powered mechanisms.

What affects the price?

A single heavy sofa bed can involve more work than several light bags. Item type, access and disposal requirements matter more than item count alone.

What happens after collection?

The correct route depends on the item: sofas, fridges and mattresses are not interchangeable waste types. Identify the item before asking for a mixed-load rate.

Is a single-item quote always cheaper than a small load?

Not necessarily. Handling, access and disposal type matter as well as volume. A heavy sofa bed or specialist appliance can be a different job from several light bags.

What alternatives should I consider?

Check council bulky collection, retailer take-back or genuine reuse eligibility. Compare the carrying required and accepted-item rules, not just the headline collection fee.

What should I do next?

Call 07912 343234, Monday–Friday 9am–6pm, or prepare a photo enquiry. Include the full item list, postcode and access. An enquiry is not a confirmed booking; wait for an agreed scope, price and slot.

01 / Good to know

Get a quote for the actual item

Send a full photo, approximate dimensions and a description of its condition. State whether the item is upstairs, built in, unusually heavy or hard to reach. An item-specific quote is more useful than guessing how much cage space it occupies.

02 / Good to know

Combine items if you already have a small clear-out

If you also have bags or other unwanted furniture, show them before the quote is agreed. Adding items after the crew arrives may change the scope or price. A clear list helps avoid that surprise.

03 / Good to know

Check alternatives for reusable items

Charity collection, retailer take-back or a council bulky-waste service may suit some jobs. Check their rules and whether you can prepare the item as required. A crew-led collection can help where carrying is part of the job.

A clear scope.
A tidy finish.

The crew removes the agreed items from safe access points and loads the van. Disposal type, weight and access are assessed before the collection.

Asbestos, chemicals, clinical waste, gas bottles, explosives and unknown liquids are outside ordinary clearance. Specialist items need separate agreement.
